Mechanism action of Bethanidine
Bethanidine, a guanidine derivative, is a peripherally acting
antiadrenergic agent which primarily acts as an alpha2a adrenergic
agonist. Bethanidine effectively decreases blood pressure by suppressing
renin secretion or interfering with function of the sympathetic nervous
system.
